The Duvald Sisters are an all female singing group. The travel around the state and region, singing praises to the Lord. They all attend Adkins Boulevard Baptist Church in their home city of Maddocha City. Robert Walls, IV, husband of Nelda Duvald-Walls is the pastor of the church. They work tirelessly at their home church as well as singing for the Lord. The sisters have been singing together as a group since 1975, when the group started with 6 of the 9 sisters. Lavonne enjoyed singing with the choir, but she wanted to sing more styles of music than they were allowed to sing in the church choir. She asked her mother, who was an excellent singer in her own right, if she and her sisters could form a group. With the blessing of her parents, Lavonne organized her sisters into a singing group. The sisters first sung at their grandfather's church, before singing at city events. The group became popular as they sung around the city. All of the girls have beautiful voices. They are also gifted musicians and songwriters. They praise God through psalms, hymns, choir songs, and personally written songs. The girls have been offered several record deals, but they have turned them all down because they decided to use their gift to glorify the Lord.
